Additional Financial Grants to the Meritorious SC/ST students

 

The scheme is intended for SC/ST girls students reading in class V to X. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

 

1.The students have to pass in all the subjects.

2.The attendance of the students must be 75%.

3.The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 60,920/-     

 

At present 180 nos. SC/ST girls are getting this benefit in this district.

 

Special Meritorious Grant for SC/ST students for class IX to XII

 

The scheme is intended for SC/ST boys / girls students reading in class IX to XII. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

 

1.The SC students should obtain 60% marks and ST students 40% marks in the annual examination.

2.The annual income should not exceed Rs. 36,000/-


At present 72 nos. SC/ST boys / girls are getting this benefit in this district.

 

Upgradation of Merit for Students reading in Classes IX to XII

 

This is with a view to removing deficiencies in school subjects and specially for preparing SC /ST students for competitive examination required for entry into professional courses like Engineering and Medicine. The emphasis of remedial coaching would be to remove educational deficiencies which these students suffer from and to promote study habits. A package grant of Rs. 15,000/- per student per year is given with the following break-up.

Boarding & Lodging Charge @ Rs. 500/- p.m. per student for 10 months

Pocket Money @ Rs. 100/- for 10 months

Books & Stationery

4.

Honorarium to Principal, expert & other incidental charges

7,000/-

15,000/-

 

The scheme is being introduced at Sonathali Kalapathar H.S. School during this financial year i.e. 2009-10.
